I am not sure of the scientific correlation between addictive personalities and stock trading, but anecdotally I have seen many of the same people that suffer from addiction to gambling or alcohol also are addictive stock traders. I have a very good friend that falls into this category and he is always making trades.  He plays options and is constantly doing a deal.  Unfortunately, he also has an alcohol problem.
