When Will It Get Better

March 29, 2010 by Ronald A. Rowe

News-flash:  The economy isn't doing so well.  I know that's a shock to those of you who live in a cave on a deserted island and haven't seen a TV or the Internet for the last three years.  For the rest of us, it's just more of the same.  The only question that remains is: when will it get better? Ask ten economists, and you'll get ten different predictions as to when the economy will turn around.  The only commonalities will be that they all think it's a ways off, and they'll all tell you something different than they did six...

Drops in a Bucket

March 22, 2010 by Joe Lawrence

Imagine walking to a well with a large bucket.  You can  fill this bucket only once per day, and you have to live off of this water for 24 hours.  What would you do with your rations? Essentially, this is a metaphor for our time and energy each day.  We only have so much to give but have many vessels that require  filling.  If we let it happen, there are many who would dip their cups and take our water.  Soon, nothing is left for us.  Is this what's happening to you? Our time is precious.  We can't afford to waste it...

A few weeks back, I wrote about leadership secrets learned from those who have gone before us.  To my way of thinking, there has been no greater example of leadership than Jesus Christ.  I've learned more about how to lead from reading of Jesus' earthly exploits than I have in any business book, and I've read my share of those, too. Jesus Christ...

The Bible offers some great advice where to look for that "X."  "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." Matthew 6:21.  There are so many thing that we hold at great values in our lives.  There are things...

We All Have a Story

March 5, 2010 by Joe Lawrence

One day as I was people watching, I had an a-ha moment.  Each person walking by had his or her very own life.  Each had unique gifts.  Their problems were weighing on their mind.  Many even had a much different look.  We all are different and have our own story. Each of us, if followed by a camera crew, would have a great television show.  We would be able to learn from each other’s successes and most importantly from each mistake.  If we placed our value into getting to know each other, we would strike oil with each new relationship. I recently...
